ufo siteing

As I watched a program on the History channel about UFO'S the other day I wondered what is the truth of this matter . Now I don't have any answers but I do have a few things that I find Interesting. I am not sure if there are other beings in spaceships visiting this planet, however when I was younger ( about 40+ years ago ) me and my friend saw something one night. I won't get into that here, mostly because my memory is so faint. The one thing that does bother me about these "encounters" is why would these "people" travel what we assume are vast distances across space just to fly in and be seen and not try to make some kind of contact with us. It just doesn't make sense. If we were able to do these things I'm sure we wouldn't travel for years or maybe decades just to turn around and leave. Now I'm pretty sure that there is something out there and there have been some very reputable people who have claimed to have seen a UFO, but I guess that we'll have to wait until we have a close encounter of the third kind to find any real answers.
